Poco a poco - Little by little

 Victor and his workers have begun cleaning the land and marking it with chalk and string.  Trazo provisional is what this is called in Spanish.   We are still figuring out the kitchen size, and tomorrow we will all go to the terreno to see how changing its size will impact the house siting.  The first parts that Victor will work on are the walls that face our neighbors Patricia and Angel, and the back wall.  This has involved consulting with our neighbors and then circling back about the solicitud de barda.  

We are also working on settling on a date for the placement of the first stone ceremony!  It’s a traditional Zapotec start to building a house.  We are going to invite some friends who have played critical support on this journey (you who are faraway are invited in spirit).  I will take photos and videos to post here.

Víctor y sus trabajadores han comenzado a limpiar la tierra y marcarla con tiza y cordel. Trazo provisional es como se llama esto en español. Todavía estamos determinando el tamaño de la cocina, y mañana todos iremos al terreno para ver cómo cambiar su tamaño afectará la ubicación de la casa. Las primeras partes que trabajará Víctor son las paredes que se rayan con nuestros vecinos Patricia y Ángel, y la pared del fondo, de don Eucario. Esto ha implicado consultar con nuestros vecinos y luego dar vueltas sobre la solicitud de barda.

¡También estamos trabajando para fijar una fecha para la colocación de la primera piedra! Es un comienzo de construcción de la tradición zapoteca. Vamos a invitar a algunos amigos que han sido un gran apoyo en este viaje (y ustedes que están lejos están invitados en espíritu). Voy a tomar fotos y videos para publicar aquí.

Como prometí, estoy subiendo los planos arquitectónicos de la casa, así como algunas fotos del terreno evolucionando.
